It began as a personal need and then developed into a national and international project.
— Meg Baertl Brown, PeriodPower Pantry founder

About us…

PeriodPower Panty was started in 2019 after a personal need of menstrual products. Our founder, Meg Baertl Brown’s, home flooded from a hurricane waters the same day she started her period. With her menstrual products underwater along with local stores being underwater, access to menstrual products was non-existent.

Menstrual periods are untimely and inconvenient. Through this experience, she developed disaster relief bags for distribution for any menstruator needing supplies due to a natural disaster.

Soon the disaster relief menstrual bags expanded into our period packs that are distributed to schools, women shelters, and prisons through out Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

We recently worked with our state legislature to end the Tampon Tax in Texas and continue to work with the local city government to find ways to make menstrual products accessible.

At PeriodPower Pantry, we strive to help all menstruators know that they are not alone and they are powerful individuals in charge of their lives!

Our Founder

Meg Baertl Brown

As a medical professional, Meg has been providing healthcare and health education for over 15 years. Not one to shy away from uncomfortable topics, Meg found that the lack of menstrual education was severe in her community and started to create opportunities to talk about menstruation and period inequities.

Our vision is to create a world where menstruation holds no one back. We fight for menstrual freedom. We fight for those who bleed.
— Manju Bangalore, Founder of Operation Period
